No Runs, No Hits, No Errors
Thoughts and Prayers from Jerusalem
Shalom from Jerusalem!
If someone errs in his prayer, it is a bad sign for him. And if he is serving as the prayer leader of a congregation, this is a bad sign for the congregation.
Brachot 34
What kind of "error" could the sages be talking about at prayer? Surely, anyone who is praying at all, is already doing something right!
The answer lies in the difference between "objective" and "subjective." Everyone should have the right amount of self esteem to recognize their own merits, yet enough self truth to recognize where there is still room to correct and to grow. And this goes ten fold if you are a public figure. Ascertain where you are on the ladder of your relationship with God, and resolve to aim for the next rung up!
Today, focus on one aspect of your prayer that you can improve.
