Pray With Friends and Family:Thoughts and Prayers from Jerusalem Shalom from Jerusalem!
Anyone who has a house of prayer in his city and does not go into it to pray, is called a bad neighbor, and furthermore, causes exile to himself and his children.
Brachot 8 As we have learned, communal prayer is the preferred method in the eyes of our sages. But could disregard for this precept carry one of the worst punishments mentioned in the Bible? Surely, our sages are not suggesting an immediate cause and effect. But if you don't assign a high value to prayer and community, your children will take note, and for them it will be even less important. Worse than experiencing banishment by their peers, they will not notice it! Today, pray with your neighbors - and your children.
Today's Prayer: Psalm 100
