Pray For Your Friend:Thoughts and Prayers from Jerusalem Shalom from Jerusalem!Anyone who is capable of asking for compassion for a friend and doesn't do so is called a sinner.
Brachot 12 God considers us all as His children. How many times have you reprimanded one of your children for bringing a cup for himself without bringing one for his sister as well? Similarly, God wants us all to look out for all of us.
Using the gift of the ability to pray without first doing what God wants - to care about our fellows - is the sin of ingratitude.
Conversely, when we pray for others, we are closer to putting our own needs into perspective, and God sees and answers us all. Today, think of someone else's problems before you pray. |
Thoughts about Prayer from Jerusalem Prayer is the foundation of the relationship between God and His children, and its primary vehicle. Sages of old have created a wealth of wisdom based on the Bible, giving people in all generations the opportunity to contemplate on these thoughts to help them focus in their relationships with the One Above.
