Brachot 16

Rabbi Zeira reminds us of another human foible: We often care more about how we are perceived by others (in this case, our parents) than by God Himself. If we think twice about our actions and their effect on our relationship with God's partners in our creation, we will be more prone to behavior proper in His eyes.

Today, before praying, think of your parents, and what you can do to make them proud of you. Later on, give them a phone call.
